The Affordable Health Care Act

The key benefits of the Affordable Health Care Act are:

Children will no longer be denied coverage due to preexisting conditions

Seniors will pay less for prescription drugs.

Students and young adults will stay on their parent’s health plan

Women with preexisting health conditions will no longer be refused coverage

Small businesses will be able to provide health care cover to their employees due to tax credit

The Affordable Care Act generally requires insurance companies to spend at least 80 percent of consumers’ premium dollars on medical care and quality improvement, and can only spend the remaining 20 percent on administrative costs
Women will begin receiving free coverage for a package of comprehensive women’s preventive services
